As if the world we live in, is not hectic enough we now have to conform to the whims of local government who choose to treat the streets of the United States, as if we were in the back allies of Baghdad. New York City among other major metropolises across the country are now starting to send unmanned drones into the sky as a means of having a birds eye view at all times. Some would consider this to be just, given the events of 9/11 but most would consider this to be an act of war i.e. Martial Law.
Now the world of street art is a very delicate subject with its artists always toeing the thin line of what is legal and illegal. There are many artist who have displayed their works for the world to see but never quite like this.
Animal, the alias the artist chooses to adorn is one of the first people to feel that wrath of this NYPD campaign. He has been hard at work posting his "satirical posters" around the city for all to see. His work is a direct result of these unmanned aircraft's being flown high above head, and his work illustrates people being bombed by these drones. A former U.S Solider Essam Attia has a bit of experience and knowledge when it comes to Drones and how they are truly used.
Animal was tracked back to his doorstep where he was arrested by NYPD detectives. According to Essam Attia, his work was meant to create conversation, about this unethical form of police surveillance. Instead he has been treated as a terrorist and a vandal, with accusations of sparking wide spread fear and disorder. Which if you ask me is a joke. What is worse? The man trying to educate the people as to what is happening in their own backyards, or these military planes soaring above head? You tell me.

“Attia now faces 56 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny possession of stolen property for his spree last September, with an additional charge of weapons possession after officers allegedly found an unloaded .22 caliber revolver under his bed during the raid.” WOW! The NYPD is trying to send a message, I would say! Go overboard lately, any overreactions, huh NYPD?
